Three brave Moorlands finance workers are set to take on a skydiving challenge this month
Three brave Moorlands finance workers are set to take on a skydiving challenge this month.
Abi Bowden, Tim Toft and Laura Whitworth have signed up to take part in the Stoke-on-Trent-based charity’s annual Skydive Challenge at Tilstock Airfield in Whitchurch, Shropshire this weekend.
The trio are set to be leaping 10,000 feet from a plane, all in aid of The Donna Louise Hospice.
They will each complete a tandem parachute jump, harnessed to a qualified instructor – with all proceeds from the daredevil sponsored event going towards supporting children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across South Cheshire and Staffordshire.
Abi, a Customer Assistant at Leek United’s Ashbourne Branch, said: “For me, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do – one to tick off on my ‘bucket list’.”
Tim, a Senior Customer Assistant at Cheadle Branch, reaches his 56th birthday the same week of the jump. He said: “It will certainly be a memorable way to celebrate – and it’s all for a great cause.”
And Laura, a Senior Customer Assistant at Uttoxeter Branch, added: “I’m a bit of an adrenalin junkie – but they might have to kick me out of the plane once we’re up there.”
Each of the intrepid colleagues has to pay a registration fee of £50 and raise a minimum of £345 to take part in the Skydive Challenge.
Zoe Gregory, Events Manager at The Donna Louise, said: “We are delighted that the team from Leek United has bravely taken on this challenge to support the children and young people of The Donna Louise. The money that they have raised will make such a difference in ensuring we can continue to support the families who rely on our services.”
