Moorlanders' Are Being Invited To Volunteer For A Charity That Improves facilities for disadvantaged

People across the Moorlands are being invited to volunteer for a charity which provides and improves educational and recreational facilities for the disadvantaged.

The Beasley Back Dane Trust is a small charity run by volunteers which has existed for more than 50 years and owns a cottage that is available for use by charities that are aligned with the charity’s objectives.

Back Dane cottage is situated in the Peak District National Park at the western end of The Roaches, half way between Leek and Macclesfield and has, in recent years, undergone a huge renovation programme.

It now provides accommodation for up to 23 people in five comfortable bunk bedrooms.

The cottage also contains a sitting room, dining room, fully fitted kitchen, a large activity room, a quiet room, a boot room and laundry as well as two shower rooms and four w/cs. It is set in beautiful open pasture land that leads down to the River Dane.

Once a month the trust holds ‘improvement weekends’ where volunteers convene at Back Dane to maintain the cottage and grounds.

All help is appreciated and if you are interested in getting involved or would like any more information about Back Dane email info@backdane.co.uk, or go online to www.backdane.co.uk
