Firefighters Were Transported By Heritage Train To Get To The Site Of A Fire In This Week

Firefighters were transported by train to get to the site of a fire in the Moorlands this week.

The incident, around three quarters of a mile from the Churnet Valley Railway Froghall Station, involved a fire coming from a corroded gas pipe along the railway track.

Appliances from Cheadle, Longton, and Leek Fire Stations attended the incident which happened at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, June 5.

Crews remained on site until around 11pm the same day as they worked together with engineers from Cadent Gas Company to put out the fire and make the area safe.
