Firefighters tackle deliberate fire at country park
Firefighters are urging people to be responsible with barbecues following a deliberate fire at Deep Hayes Country park in Longsdon today.
Today’s fire in the moorlands comes after Staffordshire Fire and Rescue received more than 50 call outs to secondary fires over the most recent Bank Holiday weekend.
At Deep hayes country park two fire crews attended and tackled the blaze that Staffordshire fire and Rescue Service day was caused deliberately.
A spokesperson said: “Firefighters are urging people to be responsible with barbecues following a deliberate fire at Deep Hayes Country park in Longsdon today.
Two crews attended, using beaters and backpacks to tackle the blaze which damaged the grassland. Do not barbecue in woodland or the open”
