New Bus ticket available for £7
An all-day travel pass allowing multiple journeys on Staffordshire’s main five operators has been launched.
The new ‘Knot’ bus ticket is supported by Staffordshire County Council and costs just £7. It will enable people to travel on services in Staffordshire operated by First Potteries, D&G, Arriva, Midland Classic, and National Express West Midlands. There is no limit on the number of journeys.
Tickets can be bought on the bus using either cash or the contactless function. People can find out more by visiting Staffordshire County Council Website
Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport Helen fisher said: “We want to encourage more people to use public transport in Staffordshire and this new pass will make travel easier.
“People will be able to use services on any of the operators signed to the scheme across the county at any time of the day. They can buy the Knot ticket on the bus and use contactless payment.
“This is a great value option for bus travel around the county and we are sure it’ll prove popular.”
The launch follows an annual survey which found that nine in 10 bus passengers in Staffordshire were satisfied with their journeys. It was carried out by independent watchdog Transport Focus.
Helen added: “Although the county council doesn’t run public bus services, we do work closely with operators to help ensure changes to routes the benefit of Staffordshire residents are maximised.
“This report shows that 90 per cent of passengers were once again satisfied overall with their trip, which is good news for operators and for residents.”
