Coronavirus: 23 Moorlands residents lose their lives in Covid-19 related deaths

At least 23 people from the Staffordshire moorlands have died as a result of coronavirus.

Data between March 20th and April 17th released by the Office for National Statistics shows the latest figures where 13.8% of deaths reported in the moorlands in that period were coronavirus related.


Leek South and Cheddleton are the area where most deaths have been reported where five people lost their lives in coronavirus related deaths.


Cheadle north, Kingsley and Alton currently has no reported fatalities.

No other area has more than 2 deaths by April 17th.

The figures include residents that have died at other locations including in Hospital
