Biddulph to host virtual VE Day celebration

Biddulph Town council has had to cancel its planned event to celebrate VE day due to the coronavirus crisis but to celebrate and to mark the 75th anniversary are urging residents to host a virtual celebration.
they are asking residents to decorate your homes with Red White & Blue and have a socially distant street party.
At 3pm the Nation’s Toast was intended to be held in pubs up and down the country – now we hope you will raise a glass of refreshment of your choice and undertake the following ‘Toast’ – “To those who gave so much, we thank you,” using this unique opportunity to pay tribute to the many millions at home and abroad.
At 7pm Moorlands Radio will play songs from the period along with readings by the Mayor of Biddulph Councillor Jim Davies, Biddulph Town Crier John Robinson, Councillor John Jones and Councillor Jill Salt. Please tune in for this special show.
At 9pm please join in with a nation singalong to famous wartime classic “We’ll meet again”
