Biddulph house fire ruled accidental
Emergency services services including the West Midlands air ambulance attended a house fire on Highfield place in Biddulph after being alerted at around 11:15 on Wednesday.
One man in his 70’s was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to the Royal Stoke university hospital
An investigation into the cause of the fire has concluded it was accidental meanwhile the man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews put out the blaze using a hose reel jet and two firefighters used breathing apparatus. An investigation has found that the fire was accidental, caused by handling of smoking materials.”
