Alton Towers set to reopen historic Gardens

The Alton Towers resort has confirmed that part of the attraction will reopen this coming Saturday (June 6th). The historic gardens inside the theme park will reopen in line with Government guidance on the reopening of gardens and land maintained for public use. The Gardens have been open to the public in one form or another since 1839, but are often overlooked by guests as they rush from one ride to another. To limit numbers tickets must be pre booked by the resorts website. the resort say they will open under reduced hours with strict hygiene and social distancing in place.

A spokesperson for the Resort said “We’re delighted to be reopening our Gardens from Saturday 6th June, following the Government’s decision to allow outdoor paid attractions to now open.

Our phased reopening plans are in accordance with the UK Government in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and in line with the reopening of attractions with open grounds and parks. We will reopen under limited capacity with reduced hours of operation and will continue to look at these measures on a daily basis.

To ensure we keep everyone safe, tickets will need to be pre-booked online.

The health and safety of our guests and staff is always our number one priority and we have therefore introduced a number of additional hygiene and safety measures which you’ll see in place when you visit. For more information.

Our rides and attractions, and all the Resort accommodation, will remain closed for now.”
