Alton Towers hopeful to reopen rides next month

As Alton towers reopens it's gates today to welcome people to the historic gardens they have revealed that they hope to be able to re-open selected rides and attractions on July 4th.

The date isn't set in stone but resort bosses remain hopeful that government restriction will continue to be lifted as planned allowing them to reopen. additional safety and social distancing will be in place when the resort does open.

the resort hope to confirm this date in the coming weeks.

A spokesperson for the resort said:

"In line with current Government guidance, we expect to be able to reopen Alton Towers Resort on the 4th July 2020. We can’t wait to welcome you back!

The health and safety of our guests and staff is always our number one priority and to keep everyone safe, we’ll be introducing a number of additional hygiene and safety measures which you’ll see in place when you next visit. ".
