Air ambulance attends Biddulph house fire as man treated for serious injuries
Emergency services services attended a house fire on Highfield place in Biddulph after being alerted at around 11:15. Crews from Biddulph, Sandyford and Kidsgrove attended and used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to put out the blaze. One man is currently being treated for serious injuries by West Midlands Ambulance service. Witnesses say the air ambulance has landed at Biddulph leisure centre. Staffordshire fire and rescue have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway as to the cause of the fire. One man had been taken to hospital A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance service said: “We were called at 11:14am by the fire service to a house fire on Highfield Place in Biddulph. We currently have the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, one land ambulance, a paramedic officer and BASICS doctor at the scene. We are currently treating one patient, a man, for serious injuries.” He was treated for multiple serious injuries by crews at the scene before being taken on blue lights and sirens to Royal Stoke Hospital for further treatment. The air crew travelled with colleagues on the land ambulance to continue treatment on route to hospital.” A spokesperson for Staffordshire fire and Rescue Service said: “An investigation into the cause of a fire is currently being carried out following a blaze at a bungalow on Highfield Place in Biddulph at around 11.15am. Crews put out the fire using one hose reel jet and two firefighters used breathing apparatus. A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital”
